I've done this 500 times!

So, what is it that you think I've done 500 times? Posts! I have been watching my posts creep up over the last several weeks and months a little incredulous that I have been at this blogging thing since Sunday, June 1, 2008! I started to blog after reading other blogs of younger quilters and really enjoying seeing all they had to share. At the time I started, Jack was not even walking yet and Jenna was only 3! My, how time has changed!

Thanks to all of you for visiting my blog, reading, and especially commenting! While I love the process to keep a good record for myself, I also enjoy all the people who I have gotten to know through blogging - whether just as an online personality or as a full-fledged, met you in the flesh friend!

At the time I started my blog, I had just bought my Janome 6600 and had no idea I would have a long arm within a year. Now, I am on my second Handiquilter machine and I have quilted over 70 quilts between the two! I have also outfitted all the beds in our home with quilts along with sharing others as gifts and donations.  I have seen a very sizable change in my stash with the inheritance of Lois' fabric, which has filled my basement and changed my shopping habits dramatically!  It seems fitting to share the latest finish - my Jelly roll challenge quilt from the sewing day our bee had last year.

As with any good milestone post, I am going to have a giveaway - it is an easy one - no following or sharing required, you just need to leave me a comment and let me know what you enjoy reading about most on my blog so I know where to focus the next 500 posts!  I'll have two giveaways - one for those who would rather have fabric and one for those who would rather have something made with fabric. Let me know in your comment which you are :)  If you would rather have something made with fabric, please let me know you favorite 2-color combination.

Thanks for all your support! I am off to do a little sewing so that I will have something to report for post 501 and beyond!

Congrats on 500!!! I think you had already started blogging when we met, but it was early on for both of us I think. Wow - how far you have come. If I had to pick, it would have to be something made by you... with orange and any other color you'd like to put with it! :-)

Congrats on your milestone. You have been blogging longer than me. I love seeing pictures of all your lovely quilts and projects. Also keeping tabs on your stash report is fun too - it's a good motivator for me. If I should be so lucky to win, I would love something made by you -- purple and green are nice together. Thank you.

Congratulations on post 500! I like keeping up with your finishes and your progress towards goals. And just life in general. Looking forward to the next 500. I'd love something made by you in mostly blues.

When you wrote "500 posts", congratulations, by the way, I had to check on how many I have published. You started 4 months before me and but I won't have 500 by October, I am at 467. However, I love writing my blog because it makes me take pictures of what I am doing. I love seeing your quilts and the process you have in completing them. My favorite colors are orange and yellow.

I love seeing everything! I am so impressed by your quilting work and enjoy our stitching time too! I would love to have something you made, maybe a tote bag or purse? I love the ones you've done!

I've read your blog for a long time. I linked up to it from Judy L's, but now follow on Google reader. I began following to see what you did with Lois's UFO's, but just enjoy seeing your progress on all projects, and the pictures of your family growing up. Congratulations on 500 posts - a landmark for sure.
I never win anything, so it doesn't matter.

Yes, congrats on the big 5-0-0!
I pop in once in a while (trying to cut back on computer time..) and like your honest posts, admire your 2013 cooking resolution and love to see your quilts. Always looking for inspiration and interested in seeing the different quilting machine set-ups out there.
Isn't it neat to check back on old posts and figure out when exactly you did a certain quilt? I just had this revelation a few days ago - never mind understanding the age of UFO's...
Best wishes for the next 500!

Congrats on 500! It's a big milestone. I've been blogging since2005 I think and have over 1100 posts. It's so great that we got to meet in person and I still remember riding with you to retreat. That's one of my best memories - seeing Touch Down Jesus. I can't believe how much your kids have grown. I'd love to have something made by you with purple and another color. You do such amazing work. As someone who has inherited another quilters stash, I know what a change it makes in your buying habits!

Congrats on 500 and here's to the next 500. I think it would be hard to just pick out one thing that I enjoy about your blog. You show quilts you made, crafts that you have been working on, plus things you are doing with your family. All of this together really is almost like being there to see it. If I would be lucky enough to win, I would say fabric is fine with me.
Congrats on 500!! I'm creeping up to 2000 myself. lol

I have to say that I am really enjoying the recipe posts, but I love seeing the kids, too!

If you pick me, something made by you would be nice. Pink, of course! And whatever else you choose.

Congrats!
