So, what is it that you think I've done 500 times? Posts! I have been watching my posts creep up over the last several weeks and months a little incredulous that I have been at this blogging thing since Sunday, June 1, 2008! I started to blog after reading other blogs of younger quilters and really enjoying seeing all they had to share. At the time I started, Jack was not even walking yet and Jenna was only 3! My, how time has changed!
Thanks to all of you for visiting my blog, reading, and especially commenting! While I love the process to keep a good record for myself, I also enjoy all the people who I have gotten to know through blogging - whether just as an online personality or as a full-fledged, met you in the flesh friend!
At the time I started my blog, I had just bought my Janome 6600 and had no idea I would have a long arm within a year. Now, I am on my second Handiquilter machine and I have quilted over 70 quilts between the two! I have also outfitted all the beds in our home with quilts along with sharing others as gifts and donations. I have seen a very sizable change in my stash with the inheritance of Lois' fabric, which has filled my basement and changed my shopping habits dramatically! It seems fitting to share the latest finish - my Jelly roll challenge quilt from the sewing day our bee had last year.
As with any good milestone post, I am going to have a giveaway - it is an easy one - no following or sharing required, you just need to leave me a comment and let me know what you enjoy reading about most on my blog so I know where to focus the next 500 posts! I'll have two giveaways - one for those who would rather have fabric and one for those who would rather have something made with fabric. Let me know in your comment which you are :) If you would rather have something made with fabric, please let me know you favorite 2-color combination.
Thanks for all your support! I am off to do a little sewing so that I will have something to report for post 501 and beyond!

I never win anything, so it doesn't matter.
I pop in once in a while (trying to cut back on computer time..) and like your honest posts, admire your 2013 cooking resolution and love to see your quilts. Always looking for inspiration and interested in seeing the different quilting machine set-ups out there.
Isn't it neat to check back on old posts and figure out when exactly you did a certain quilt? I just had this revelation a few days ago - never mind understanding the age of UFO's...
Best wishes for the next 500!
I have to say that I am really enjoying the recipe posts, but I love seeing the kids, too!
If you pick me, something made by you would be nice. Pink, of course! And whatever else you choose.
Congrats!
