Stash Report - Week 28 2013

I bookended this week with sewing on both ends - Sunday, I went to my mom's house with my purse fabric and she and I both got our purses finished. I used Annie's Soft and Stable batting in my purse and I really like how it holds up. I bought a package at the Cincinnati quilt show last year and also made the purse in this post with it. I will definitely buy this batting again.

The purse pattern is from the October 2008 Quilts and More magazine and was a 1-1 1/2 hour project, great for a Sunday afternoon! The only adjustment to the pattern that I made was topstitching around the top of the bag once it was all together. I've used the purse all week and it is the perfect size and I like all the pockets (the whole exterior is pockets, created when you sew the straps on).

No sewing during the week this week, but I did get down to my sewing room last night and finished the quilting on my rolling stones quilt.  I ran out of the pink in the top, so auditioned the other three fabrics in the quilt for binding.

I ruled out the black w/color bars and then stretched out the two leftovers....you'll have to come back again to see which one I chose! Which one would you have picked - the neon green or bright blue?  I got the binding on last night and have it almost 1/2 stitched down already - love mini quilts for that!!

So, here's the official stash report for the week:

Fabric added this week: 0 yards
Fabric used this week: 1 3/8 yards

Fabric added year to date: 14 7/8 yards
Fabric used year to date: 35 1/2 yards

Fabric used year to date: 20 5/8 yards

love your rolling stones quilt - did you create the pattern yourself?

Great numbers on your report!
I love your mini quilt. My binding choice would be the bright blue.

I've made that bag as well! I wonder where I put it? Love your Rolling Stones quilt, how big will it measure?

Your bag is cute and I think either color would work. It depended on which one I was trying to destash!

The bags came out terrific. The straps play double duty that's nice. Anxious to see if you went neon green or bright blue! Sandi

Great job. I really like the purse. I need a new bag, my quilted one (purchased) is stained and the handles are starting to fray.
