Stash Report - Week 33 2012

Every year, about this time, my stash report takes a bit of a hit. You see, Quilts Plus has a sidewalk sale and ice cream social. This year, there was tons of great fabric, including some lovely batiks, for $3.99/yard. When the prices are that good, it is really hard to pass it up. So I didn't!

I bought the rest of the bolt of the red and white and the green batik. All the others are 1 yard cuts.

We spent a little time outside after I got home, because it is absolutely gorgeous here this weekend (high 70s, windows open, cool mornings - feels like spring again), then I finished cutting out my next quilt top - my oriental french braid. So, at least I have some stash busted this week!
Oriental French Braid - some assembly required
I haven't started working on the quilting I was planning to do post-Olympics, so that is the goal for this week. I have a day off and nothing scheduled tomorrow, so am hoping that I will get at least the panel I have on the frame finished.

Here's the final accounting:
Fabric added this week: 10 1/8 yards
Fabric used this week: 2 3/4 yards

Fabric added year to date: 29 yards
Fabric used year to date: 63 7/8 yards

Net fabric used: 34 1/8 yards

Hope you had a great week with your stash! You can see more stash reports and read some really funny stories about chickens over at Patchwork Times

Sales are hard to pass up as high as fabric is these days. Great selection. Even with the additions you are still in the black, so not a bad week at all.

Atleast you're in the black! Everytime I think I'll be back into the black something happens! Your fabric selections look great. Our weather here in Iowa has been beautiful for about a week and I'm hoping it stays like this into fall....maybe a little more rain.

Great buys and wonderful colors too. Our temps have been the same as yours - cooler days and chilly evenings. I'm not ready for fall yet, so I hope there are a few more "summer days" left. The year is flying by way too quickly.

Looks great!

I am jealous. I did not know they had a sidewalk sale annually. And, I am convinced ice cream is one of the basic food groups. But I need more fabric like I need a hole in my head.

Can't wait to see the finished product!

I love that batik on the far right, and I can't wait to see the french braid quilt come together!
