After meeting Laura Wasilowski last month and seeing her wonderful quilts, I was inspired to pull out and work on one of my kits that involves fusing. Given the time of year I decided to work on a Halloween kit that I bought last year at the Indiana Heritage Quilt Show.
Several hours of intricate cutting later, I had a fused wall hanging with borders!
I did have some learning while I was fusing that I thought I could share. I used Wonder Under for the fusing (thanks mom for sharing your stash :) and followed the directions on the package only to have wrinkles (for lack of a better word) in the moon. I was a little frustrated because it wasn't crisp, but it also did give the moon some neat texture, so I wasn't so bothered that I was going to toss it (especially not after all the intricate cutting, did I mention how long that took?). Last night as I was pressing the borders, I mistakenly got part of the moon under my iron. A few minutes later, I noticed that part was now smooth and crisp. So, I hit the rest of the moon with a hot, dry iron and now it looks the way I want it to.
Now, I just have to quilt it! Any suggestions?

I'm with Gari as I think an all over pattern would ruin it. I'd be very tempted to use a bit of metallic though. Maybe on the moon. A dark metallic would look goood on the witch aswell.
Love and hugs Gina xxx
