Stash Report - Week 12

I had another good week - I was able to find lots of time for quilting which was really nice!

I started the week working on a snap happy tote and matching bag. I started second guessing my color choice for the straps/accent on the tote, so instead worked on and finished the matching bag.

I also got a quilt quilted and binding sewn on, but I'd already prepped and counted the binding for it, so no stash busting there.

Last night, I got busy making scrap bags. For all my fabric and batting scraps, I throw them into a bag, and when it's full, I make it into a pet bed. I've kept one for Mittens and have donated one to the local animal shelter, and am ready to fill one or two more now. I realized that this would be a great use for some of the older fabric Lois left me.

I got four bags done last night and have a couple more yards pulled to make up soon.

I also got my second snowbound BOM fused, so now I am caught up (well, on the fusing at least) to February. So far, I am loving how these are turning out in brights!

Onto the stash report....

Fabric added this week: 0
Fabric used this week: 2 1/2 yards

Fabric added year to date: 7/8 yards
Fabric used year to date: 26 1/8 yards

Net fabric used year to date: 25 1/4 yards!

I do the same thing with my batting scraps and the tiniest of fabric scraps that even I wouldn't use :-). It looks like we make our pet beds the same way...basically make a pillowcase, stuff it, and sew it closed. That's how I make mine anyway.

Good job on your other accomplishments as well!

That's a great use for scraps. I have a giant bag that my sister wants for fire-starters at scout camps but she can't use the poly-cotton batting. So this would be a great use for those scraps. Thanks for the idea.
