Telling Time

Back in June, I finished this quilt for my friend Sara. She chose the colors and the pattern and I did the sewing and quilting for her. As her birthday approached this year, I kept looking at the bag of scraps from the quilt and trying to figure out what to make her from them. Then, my mom bought this great pattern in Columbus, and I made it for her birthday, which was this past week.

I had lots of fun with this project -- tried my hand at paper piecing with freezer paper, used several of my specialty stitches on my machine,

and even struggled with how to tell time! I didn't notice it, nor did Sara, but the first thing her husband noticed when he looked at the clock is that I put the 3 and the 9 in the wrong places! Oh, well, it will be a conversation piece if nothing else!!!
