Two December quilting goals

I finished my last day of work for the year yesterday so now I can turn some time and attention to figuring out two quilting goals for December. It's always hard to decide this time of year as I usually want to finish up something I've started to get one more FFO in the books for the year. As of this morning, I don't quite feel that way this year, but the mood may strike in the next two weeks.

I have a quilt on the frame for my mom right now, it's a Christmas present so I need to get that quilted and back to her by the weekend, which hopefully won't be too hard. After that quilt is done, I'd like to load and start the quilting on my Reindeer quilt that I finished late last year. It is a big quilt so I am not sure I will finish it before the new year, but I'd at least like to get a good start on the quilting. I'll set the goal as having enough quilted that the top doesn't touch the floor by the end of the year.

For my second goal, I am going to do some digging around my small bag patterns - I want to make some bags for something I am doing in January, so I'd like to pick out a pattern or patterns and get the fabrics pulled and ideally some progress made on bag assembly.

In between, I also hope to get a few more cross-stitch FFOs completed and continue working on the scrap blocks/pieces that I started last month. At the end of the month, I will be happy if I've spent some good time in my sewing room over the holidays.

What are you working on in these last few months of the year? Final projects or continuing to work on things that have been on your table for a while?

How wonderful to have these last two weeks of the year off, Jennifer! Knowing you, you will more than achieve your goals! That reindeer quilt is adorable! I'm frantically working to finish up my youngest grandson's ornament (not that he'll even know if it's on time or not since he's only 7 months olds :). Then I have another Christmas related gift that I've put off finishing for over a year so it's time to get 'er done as they say! Enjoy your vacation!
Enjoy your time off in your sewing room and with your family, Jennifer. I can't wait to see what you work on for the rest of this month. That reindeer quilt top is darling. I am working on my WIPs and have two smalls to get stitched up before the year ends. Wishing you and your family a joyous season!

It always feels strange when you've done that last day of work for the year and realize you don't have to go back till after New Years. Enjoy the time off. Hope you get in lots of sewing room time and make good progress on your goals. Merry Christmas!
