Yikes, it's more than halfway through May and I haven't yet shared my two quilting goals. I have been writing this post at the same time as my monthly wrap-up but just scheduling it to go live a little later. I didn't do that this month and almost forgot to post, but I haven't forgotten about my goals as I've had them in my head since the start of the month.
1. Pull fabric for my next quilt. It's a quilt pattern that I got at my fall retreat and it's made with seven fat quarters. I know exactly who I want to make it for and I want to use Halloween themed fabrics. I am going to dig around to see if I have enough that go together to use true Halloween fabrics or if I just go with the orange/black/purple and maybe a bit of green/yellow for the color theme. I know I also bought a fabric pack with Halloween fabrics years ago, but not sure how many fat quarters are in it. If there are 7, then it will be a no-brainer to use it. Bonus points for getting them pressed and cut as well, but I might not get that far.
The pattern for the next quilt is the pink postcard in this picture of my haul from last October Now that I see the picture, I want to work on the two bags I bought things for too! |
2. Do some cross-stitch FFO'ing with fabric. I've done a big push the last two years to fully finish my cross-stitch items, but haven't done quite as much so far this year. I have a few things that are sitting with the fabric I want to use, so I'd like to get them from idea to finished product. My stretch goal for the month is to FFO five items - they may not all be with fabric, but I'd like at least three of them to be finishes that require fabric.
I haven't yet put the binding on my Quarter Log Cabin quilt, but it's made and my mom made a label for me last weekend, so hopefully I can squeeze that in before the month ends as well.
Hope you're finding plenty of time for sewing or crafting in April. I worked for about three hours on my garden yesterday so I am ready for some needle and thread time today!
