I start April with a 1 for 3 record for my monthly quilting goals - missed Jan and Feb, hit March. Even if I haven't hit the goals each month, this approach is encouraging me to spend more time in my quilting room and working on quilting projects, so I am going to keep at it. For April, I plan to be home most of the month, with a stitching retreat the second weekend but no other big plans. That means I should get a little bit of quilting time each weekend that I am home. And I am ready for some finishes, so my two goals will be focused on that.
Goal #1 - Finish the Flipping Out bag. It is a small end result, but one of those patterns that has a lot of steps. I'd like to make steady progress over the month so it is complete by the time we wrap up April. I am not sure yet how I'll use the bag, but I am looking forward to finally finishing this one which was cut and kitted to go to my retreat last fall. Once I finish this "bag," then I will feel good about moving on to one of the purse patterns that I have fabric for. I've bought my last few purses and I am ready to make one again.
Flipping Out bag progress at the end of March - still a lot to do! |
Goal #2 - Finish quilting and bind Quarter Log Cabin - the quilting is finally underway and I want to have this quilt ready to use by the summer with it's bright and summery fabrics. I would like to get the quilting done, make the binding, and get it attached. I will give myself credit even if I only have one side of the binding sewn on by the end of the month, because I know by the time I have the binding on one side, I will get it done soon.

We'll see how I do - maybe by the end of April, I'll bring my record to 50% - and maybe not. Either way, I will have fun trying.
