Two February Quilting Goals

Setting two goals for the month worked well for me in January, even if I didn't fully achieve both goals. It kept me focused when I had time in my quilting room and also spurred me to spend a little more time there than I have for the last few years. February feels like it is going to be a quick month - I have several evening and even a few weekend plans, so I want to keep my goals manageable this month.

1. Finish Marble Mystery quilt top - as of the writing of this post, I have all the pieces ready for assembly, so I should be able to get the top put together in a few focused sessions. The link up is in March and I'd like to be able to include mine in the parade. I really love the colors so can't wait to see it all together. As a reminder, here's what mine looks like in the various pieces.

2. Start the Flipping Out bag that I've had kitted up for over a year. This project has been to two or three retreats with me, and I even precut all the pieces before my fall retreat, but it didn't come out of the bag. It's time to get it started! I've made a few other By Annie patterns and they have lots of steps, so not sure I will get it finished, but I'd at least like to get it going. I honestly don't remember if I am making the medium or large bag, so it will be a surprise to us both!

In addition to the goals, I hope to get some quilting done on Quarter Log Cabin and work on some FFOs, but they will be extra credit after these two goals.

What do you hope to make progress on in February? I'd love to hear.

I really like the fabrics you are using for your quilt, Jennifer. I hope both of your quilting goals are fruitful for you. I am a planner and making monthly plans has worked for me so why mess with a good thing. February's plan includes stitching on 2 SAL pieces, stitching 3 more Christmas ornament gifts, stitching 1 birthday gift and working on a piece I told a friend I would finish for her.

Knowing you, you'll reach both of these quilting goals--and more, Jennifer :) Love the pretty fabrics! I am not a planner other than my monthly Christmas ornament. And because I'm a monogamous stitcher, I just pick up whatever is calling to me and stitch away! I'm almost done with my first Teresa Kogut Santa--absolutely love him :)
