Stash Report - October 2016

Wow, over a month since my last post, but I've been busy! Yesterday was the first Saturday in a month that I haven't been out of town or committed to something for the whole day...and it was lovely! My mom and I went to lunch, did a little shopping, and then I came home and took a nap. It was great!

From a stash perspective, it has been a pretty busy month. It started with preparations for my retreat - I did a little bit of cutting so that I could just sew when I get to retreat, which makes me feel like I get a lot more done there. I cut out a panel/top, and two purses, which had lots of pieces!

I also took some time to pull together the leftover fabric from the quilter's garage sale earlier this year, and took a full tote of fabric to sell. It was mostly Orientals, as I have decided that, while they are very pretty fabrics, I really hardly ever use them. I did save a few from the stash, but the rest went into the sale bucket, and I did really well. I sold just over 26 yards of fabric! It paid for my purchases and my food while at retreat :)
Stitching supplies - a new pattern, linen, threads, and ribbons to embellish finishes

I did buy a little fabric - there was a neat kit on sale at Pumpkinvine Quilt Shop and I just couldn't pass it up. I also added a few FQs, and a few stitching supplies as well.
Quilting additions - a kit, a few FQs, a towel kit, and a few bobbin holders
Here's the final result on the stash for October.

Fabric added this month: 3 5/8 yards
Fabric used/sold this month: 29 1/8 yards

Fabric added year to date: 16 7/8 yards
Fabric used year to date: 81 1/4 yards

Net fabric used: 64 3/8 yards

I will be back soon to show you all that I got done at retreat!

That is a terrific idea to sell fabric from your stash at a retreat. Jennifer, tell me more about how this works. My guild does a retreat of about 40 quilters in May/June. I think this would be a fabulous opportunity. Oh and by the way, I'm like you with Orientals. Only found one of them so far that I ever used. It was a cat by the way =^.^=

Great numbers on your stash. Will be looking to see lots of finishes from your retreat too.

Glad your fabric sale went well, Jennifer! I keep thinking I should do the same with some of my charts that I know I'll never get to...

Looks like you got some cute finishing ribbons and ric rak--I just can't pass up a nice display of those items :)

Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving if I don't "visit" you on your blog before then :)
