Stash Report - Weeks 16-17 2014

I continued over the last two weeks to plod along on the baby quilts I have in progress. One got a back made, loaded, quilted, and bound! The other one got borders on, a back made, and is loaded onto the frame waiting for me to start quilting it.
Baby quilt back
Last week on Friday, I had an afternoon off work with no specific commitment, so my mom and I took a trip up to the newest quilt shop in the area, Quilt Expressions. She had been there before, but it was my first trip. I really enjoyed the store - lots of blenders and brights, several full lines, and just about every color of Kona cotton that you could ask for. Oh, and they also had a nice sale room.  Fabric on the bolt was 40% off and 1 yard cuts were 3/$20.  I focused my efforts primarily on tone on tone fabrics that I can use for borders, sashing, and binding, and I did a pretty good job. It did make my stash report take a plunge downward, but I feel good about the type of fabrics I added to the stash (that's my story and I am sticking to it!).
Purchases
Here's the result:
Fabric added last two weeks: 6 1/2 yards
Fabric used last two weeks: 2 1/8 yards

Fabric added year to date: 13 7/8 yards
Fabric used year to date: 22 yards

Net fabric used: 8 1/8 yards

It seems like everytime I take a few steps forward this year, I then take a few steps back. At least I am having a good time doing it :)

How fun to have a mother who also quilts - lucky you. I couldn't have passed up the sale fabrics either, pretty good prices.

In Cajun land, they call that the "Two-Step". So you are dancing and didn't know it. It really is fun!
