I am really late in getting this up tonight due to a busy day and some evening work, but I have a couple finishes so wanted to share!

First up is my mini-quilt - Rolling Stones - this is from an old issue of American Patchwork and Quilting and it is now available online here. The finished size is 14" square and if you look at their pattern, you can see that I chose very different fabrics for mine - and I love it!  I chose the bright green for the binding - I thought it made the whole thing pop a little more than the blue.
Rolling Stones - bound and ready to display
For quilting, I did straight line diamonds in the four "cogs" and then X's across the flying geese and straight lines in the border. If you've been reading for a while, you know that this quilt has been on my to-do list since the beginning of the year and I just really didn't know how to quilt it with all those little pieces. I didn't want to do an all-over. I am really happy with the way it came out and now just need to find the right place to display it.

I also loaded up a baby quilt on the frame yesterday and got some quilting done. A bee friend made this one for her niece, who is having her first baby. I did big swirls with a Sulky Polylite thread on the top and Bottom Line in the bobbin.  These two threads don't play all that well together and I had to change the needle size to a smaller needle, loosen the tension top and bobbin, and also go slow. I really like the look of the Sulky, but I've had more luck using it with a cotton bobbin, so need to remember that in the future!
Big swirls up close
I have some early morning meetings this week at work, but I am hoping that I will have enough energy at night to get moving on a few more projects this week!

I like what you did with your Rolling Stones quilt. I guessed wrong on the binding. Oh well, either way it looks great! Also like the overall you did on your friends baby quilt. That design is one of my favorites to quilt too. Have a great week.

Like your choices on both quilts' quilting. The bright green binding is a very nice choice too. I just might need to add this design to my want to do project list! Hope your week allows you time to sew. Sandi

Love the quilting on the rolling stones. Are you doing the swirls free hand? They look great.
