Well, I don't have any good pictures to share, but I have had a great two weeks of stash usage - most of it given away :)
My cousins were here to visit last weekend and my cousin Mary is a quilter/crafter too. I was holding a big piece of fabric for her to make a back for a quilt I am going to quilt for her - one of the early ones she made. Then, as we were talking, she mentioned wanting to do something with a Jelly Roll to see what she could come up with. I also had charm packs in the same box where the jelly rolls were stored, so I let her dig through them as well and she found one of each that she wanted to work with. I can't wait to see what she comes up with!
I also - finally - got started on my shirt that I had hoped to finish before our vacation. I did all the cutting earlier this week and will sew on it over the next few weeks. For now, I am keeping it simple and set up a small sewing station in front of our tv so that I can watch the Olympics and make a little progress on UFOs. I have a couple things that just need straight, easy piecing, so that's the plan for my Olympic-watching sewing.
Both of the above really helped propel my stash report in the right direction - here's the result from the last two weeks:
Fabric added this week: 0 yards
Fabric used this week: 11 3/8 yards
Fabric added year to date: 17 5/8 yards
Fabric used year to date: 53 3/8 yards
Net fabric used: 35 yards!
The good news is that I still have three quilt backs to make in the (relatively) near future, and I will start soon on cutting out one or two quilts to work on at retreat in October. It is looking pretty good from here - I would love to finish the year with 50+ net yards used. Time will tell!
Hope you had a great week with your stash!
