Stash Report - Weeks 26-28 2012

Vacation got in the way of my stash reports for the last few weeks (and I didn't mind at all!).  Before we headed out, I did finish the turtle quilt for Jenna's teacher and she gave it to her on the last day of school. Jenna reported that she liked it a lot. I thought I had a final picture of it, but can't find it right now.

On vacation, I visited a quilt shop in Houghton Lake, MI - AJ's Quiltery. It was a small, but nice shop and I found some nice pieces of fabric to bring home. One went right out the door to my mom before I got a picture of it. When I gave Mom her fabric, she gave me my Aurifil thread from a recent bee order. I am so excited to have a cone of the white because it is one of my favorite threads to use in my HQ.

While I was gone, my mom used some of Lois' florals to make a back for a quilt that we found in a box which I thought only had scraps in it! It was quite a surprise to find a finished quilt top there, so Mom made the back and I will load it on the frame soon. Work on Lois' UFOs has slowed, so it will be nice to get something of hers finished up and to her family again.

So, with all that activity, here's the stash report:

Fabric added last 3 weeks: 1 1/2 yards
Fabric used last 3 weeks 5 1/8 yards

Fabric added year to date: 17 5/8 yards
Fabric used year to date: 42 yards

Net fabric used: 23 5/8 yards

Hope you had a great week with your stash!

What a nice surprise to find a quilt top instead of scraps!! Maybe they put themselves together at night while you slept!

Your stash numbers are headed in the right direction. Good job.

Just wanted to share this with you. My aunt was on a chartered shop hop in Texas this weekend. She texted me to tell me she had learned that if you buy fabric outside of your home county it doesn't count as fabric but as a souvenir!

I pointed out that there are no fabric shops IN my home county. Perhaps I should stick with more than 2 hours drive time from home.

Congrats on your finishes.
