I took a partial day off work yesterday with the intent of getting a zillion things done. Am I the only one who things I can get so much done in a day? My plan initially included: hang new shower curtain, long walk at Eagle Creek Park, work on storage area in basement and put together shelving, quilting, sewing, and a trip to Bath and Body Works for their semi-annual sale (which is the only time I allow myself to go there anymore since I buy way too much every time I walk in the door!). The plan changed when I my work stretched until 11 am. Once I got the work computer shut down, I headed down to the basement to survey the area and think about where I wanted to start.
I decided to jump in and clear out the storage room so that I could build one of my shelving units with the intent to move things downstairs over the weekend. Once I got started on the clearing and shelving, I just kept going. I wound up getting both of the units fully assembled, and then had to see if my 3-drawer unit would fit correctly in one, so I started the process to move all my stuff from the closet in the old sewing room down to the basement. It really didn't take all that long, and once started, I just kept going.
I didn't break for lunch until almost 2, then went on my shopping trip as a little reward for how much I had done. By the time I got home from shopping, everyone arrived home, we had our neighbor over for a margarita, and then dinner/bedtime, etc took up the rest of the day!
I did finally get down for a little sewing after the kids went to bed and got border #1 on the wonky trees and cut border #2.
Mike and I settled in after that for some popcorn and netflix. All in all, it was a day well worth spending at home to get a few things done. Maybe I will take that walk tomorrow.....
