Stash Report - Week 38

Boy, it was a great week for my addiction hobby and for my stash. Last weekend, I got my HQ16 back in the frame and got a quilt loaded and started. Unfortunately, I am having some issues with needle up/needle down that I hope to get resolved soon. I can still quilt, but it makes stopping challenging!

I made a couple blocks for a comfort quilt this week for a friend who is dealing with some very stressful family illness issues (the blob in the middle of the friendship star is where I signed for her). I also pulled fabric to use for the borders, but they haven't decided what to use yet, so I won't count it as busted until it is cut.

The other project is a set of bags that will be made for Coburn Place. Each year, instead of exchanging Christmas gifts in my bee, we make gift bags for this women's shelter. They started with toiletries in paper bags, and now have expanded to great gift bags with tons of toiletries, personal items, and even some chocolate. This year, we decided to make fabric bags, so I pulled some from my stash that I don't envision ever using in a quilt and cut them into bag kits last night. Each kit contains a half yard cut of fabric for the bag body and 2 4" strips for the handles. I made 12 kits, so it had a great impact on my stash.

Here's the report for the week:
Fabric added this week: 0
Fabric used this week: 9 1/8 yards

Fabric added year to date: 31 7/8 yards
Fabric used year to date: 94 3/4 yards (getting awful close to a great milestone!)

Hope you and your fabric have a great week ahead!

Wow!! Look at you go through that stash! That really is impressive. The thing I like the most about your report is that you don't count that fabric until you use it. I see some where if they have cut it, they count it as used...even if they haven't made anything with it yet. I never thought that was the way it was supposed to work! lol Keep it up..you are doing such good things with your fabrics. There are going to be a lot of very blessed people out there because of you!!
Way to go on your usage!! Great idea for the bags! And good luck with the frame issue. ARGH on that, I say! :)
