Kindergarten Report

Yesterday was Jenna's first day of Kindergarten! After a couple weeks of meeting the teacher, buying clothes, packing the backpack, and checking off school supplies, Jenna was ready to head in for her first day! She is going to half-day kindergarten (afternoon) at a year round school with a dress code. She loves to wear skirts and dresses and chose this one for her first day.

All was well until she had to line up to go inside, when she dissolved into tears. I was able to walk back to the classroom with her, where her teacher said there was playdoh (thank god for kindergarten teachers!). She hung up her backpack, wiped off her tears, and found a pink container of playdoh. I gave her a kiss and waved goodbye.

She had a great day and was looking forward to going back today. The report from today was good too and she made two friends - one in her classroom and a bus buddy. She was excited tonight to pick out clothes for tomorrow!

She is growing up Mom!!!
She did a lot better than Jill did. The 6th grade was the first year that I didn't have to pull Jill off my legs while she was screaming, "Don't leave me Mommy!"
It is hard to believe she is in college now!

She looks so dressed up in her uniform. Hopefully she continues to enjoy school for years to come.

She looks gorgeous. It only seem like yesterday that Gem was in Nursery.
I'm glad that she enjoyed it as it makes life alot easier.

Love and hugs Gina xxx

She looks so cute in her little back pack. She'll make so many friends that by Friday it will seem like she's always been in school.

I think first days are harder on parents than on the kids. I'm sure she forgot about being upset the minute she found playdoh, but you worried all day.

Yeah, my baby starts kindergarten in a few more weeks. I don't foresee any tears for him, though - he's a take-charge little guy. Me, now...

Speaking as a former kindergarten teacher, once mom is gone and she sees other kids busy she will be fine. I'm so glad her day went well. I'm sure it was much harder on you!!!
