The quilt without pictures

I finished quilting a new one on Monday, but can't show any pictures yet because the recipient reads my blog and I don't want her to see the quilt here first. I used Thermore batting in this one and boy, is that stuff thin! I have it laying on the couch and will start sewing on the binding one of these nights while we are watching the Olympics, so I will see then how warm it is. But it was great for tension...no issues at all on this one. I used Superior Brytes. I really love that thread. It has just the right weight and sheen to it and it quilts so nicely.

Since I can't show pictures of the quilt, I will share my pincusion pictures. I hosted a pincushion swap for my Quilting in Indiana yahoo group and made this pincushion (which still hasn't arrived at it's destination across town even though I mailed it a week ago....arrgghh).

And, I received this one in exchange.

It was a really great swap...nice to have a little something to use in the sewing room and no new UFO (that's the best part!).

I'm making the one you received for my SIL for Christmas. She loves GWTW stuff and since that is Civil War Era I thought it would fit.
