Two and Counting

Hi there Lois, me again! Just wanted to let you know that I am starting to make some progress on your UFOs. Here's the first one - it was so close to complete - I stitched the opening in the back closed tonight and it will head back to your house probably this weekend or early next week. Don't know where your boys will put it, but I think the colors are great (sorry they don't show as well in the pictures). Your simple pattern has inspired me. I might have to make some placemats like this from one of the many jelly rolls that you left me!

I also finished your X-Bag. We both bought the pattern in Columbus at Quilt Trends in different years, and mom and I made our bags a while back. I remember the day you came to bee and told me that you couldn't figure out how it went together. We pinned it the right way and that must be how you left it. I hope you sister or one of your nieces will like the bag and will use it.

I also worked with Mom yesterday to package up eight projects for others to start on! She took them all to the North group today and passed them out to a couple bee members and a couple volunteers who do hand work.

On the other hand, I found another UFO yesterday! Shame on you hiding them in the midst of other things! I added it to the list and later in the day found some blocks that were already made for it! Ha ha - got ya! You thought you'd fool me putting them in two separate places, but I figured it out!

This weekend and into next week, I am going to take a little break from your stuff for a week or so to get a couple of my own projects quilted. I am suddenly experiencing a little urgency after seeing so many UFOs!

P.S. Could you please stop knocking over the thread? Twice yesterday, your thread racks fell over and all the thread toppled off, once when I was on the other side of the room, and the other time when I just barely bumped the ironing board on which they were resting. We really do need thread to finish the projects, okay? I promise I will take good care of it!

Again, I love how you write these posts. I know Lois is sitting up there on a big old fluffy cloud, with a big old comfy quilt thrown over her and big fuzzy bunny slippers sipping coffee thinking, 'Gee, I never finished projects for fast in all my day!
Bless you. I know she is so proud of you.
be blessed,

Lois is making us all smile through you, even those of us who never had the good fortune to meet her. That - even more than her fabric -is quite the legacy! Thanks Jennifer for letting us share in this!
