Are you kidding me?

For quite a while, I have suspected that Jack has a secondary allergy or food issue due to some gastrointestinal problems I won't detail on the blog : ) During our family vacation to New Mexico in May, he had none of the issues and since then we've been trying to figure out what the difference was in his diet. Different brand of soymilk, different tap water? Those were theories that we couldn't check very well once we were back home, but we started week after week of trying to eliminate certain foods to see if they might be the trigger. We went through corn - no, wheat - no, pork - no, and I think there were a few others in there. In addition, he's been off eggs for about a year because of suspected issues with them too (and there is a high correlation between soy and egg allergies). Well, this weekend, we finally figured it out....and I can't believe it!

Turkey!

The Christmas day turkey sparked a reaction and I have had him off turkey since then. Kinda forgot about it and gave him a turkey sandwich on Saturday, and by Sunday, issues were back.

I am so glad we've figured this out. This is such an easy thing to remove from his diet and we're lucky that he loves his protein so we can easily substitute with another meat. We do eat quite a bit of turkey in our house, but I don't think he'll really notice if we make a change for him.

So, now we try eggs again when we're feeling brave (I think we'll wait a few weeks at least). And, then hope that he outgrows it all!

Oh, I do hope that you figured it out. Process of elimination and beating your head against the way trying to figure things out can be so frustrating. Yay for figuring it out, and I hope Jack's problem has been solved!
be blessed,
Michelle
Oh my gosh!! The poor little guy!! I'm glad that you were able to figure that out! Who would've thought???
My sister's family has a problem with turkey too but not chicken. The same child has a problem with some ham products.

Congratulations on figuring it out.

It's such a puzzle - and even tougher when you have to read every single food label every single time! Hope this one is this easily solved.

Wow how random is that? I've never heard of that on before. In doing your research now, is it a common allergen or just a crazy one in a million? I'm glad for him that turkey is easy to avoid. :)

It is fantastic you figured it out! And that is a relatively simple thing for you guys to eliminate. That is great!

I'm so glad that you've been able to sort it out. at least it's something simple for you to avoid.

My friend has an allergy to chicken eggs but is fine with duck eggs. If you can get hold of them try them.

Love and hugs Gina xxx
