When I see something cute with reindeer, I just can't help myself. I love them. I decorate with them extensively at Christmas, and even have a few that stay out all year. So, when I saw this panel, I had to get it. I have the perfect spot for a Christmas quilt, and when I saw this, I knew it was perfect because I could get it done in a year! I can't remember where I got it, which is a bit of a problem, because I don't have anything for binding. Anyway, I wanted to get another quick project on and off the frame, so I loaded this Friday night and decided to work on my meandering. I have really not embraced meandering much because I like loops (and stars) so much, but I didn't think they were appropriate for this quilt.
The funny thing is, I already have some loop muscle memory, because no matter how hard I try, when I start to get stuck on what to do next, I subconsciously throw a loop in (see the tiny one below?).
Meandering was hard for me, but I kept at it. I am pleased with the end result, but boy, I don't like the way it looks while I am working on it! Now, I just have to find some binding and get this ready for December. Maybe I should quilt up my Halloween panel next!

The panel you refer to is Debbie Mumm "Home Fires" collection. My girlfriend and I made a quilt from the free pattern that was on her website. I could not get all the collection in Canada so we improvised with other designers. I guess I should post a picture of it on my blog soon. If you are interested in the free pattern let me know and I will send it to you.
