On Friday of last week, I was able to take the day for myself and attend a guild workshop with Debbie Bowles of Maple Island Quilts. Even if you don't know her name, you've probably seen at least one of her quilts in a local shop. They are all over and fantastic! I worked on a curved cutting & piecing project called Carnival. I am making mine in mostly batiks with a few fabrics that play well with batiks. I have 4 sets of 4 blocks done and the next 3 or 4 sets lined up to work on when I finish my quilt for the show. I will wait to square them all up when they are all together. My mom and a friend from my bee also took the class, and my mom then hosted Saturday's class. She's already finished her top from that one!
I still have the quilting on Perennial Pansies to finish and am hoping to get to that tomorrow. I'll post the picture when I complete it. I am a little more nervous than usual quilting this one because I have to do it on my Janome! I have gotten so comfy quilting on my HQ that I have almost forgotten how to do anything other than straight lines on the Janome! I hope it goes well and I have something good to show you all (and the judges at the show!).
