A Little Shopping

Today, Mom and I headed over to Quilts Plus, the quilt shop which is closest to us, as I wanted to pick up a couple things. They had just filled their sale room with 30% off fabric, and we both had coupons for 40% off! Woo hoo. In addition, they had a pile of bolts with a small amount of fabric left that were 20% off if you finished the bolt. I found some gems, but also bought several pieces of fabric with a purpose.

The orange and green batiks will become stuffed turtles for a baby gift and maybe a Christmas gift. The pink on the right will be the backing for an Easter table runner, and the Air Force fabric will be the backing for a quilt of valor for my nephew who is in Iraq until this summer. The only two impulse purchases were the orangey-red fabric in the upper left and the green with flowers on the left. Not much left of either one, but I am sure I will find some way to use them in the future!

It's always fun to buy more fabric. I'm sure you'll find a use for it.

Quilts Plus is one of my favorite shops, although it's over an hour away.
