July was a hot month in Indy, which was great because it meant lots of indoor time for stitching and quilting - and even a little crochet. The month started with a week off work and I spent most of it stitching.
I had four stitching finishes and four FFOs this month, thanks to a great finishing day with my mom. I started by framing a piece that I finished last year. I bought the frame earlier this year during a sale at Michael's and I loved the ornate frame. I took my time, pinned, then laced and then very carefully put it into the frame. I think it turned out pretty well.

The next finish is the third in the Mad for Plaid series, Summer. I thought this bright green fabric worked well with the colors in the piece. I switch this one out seasonally and was very happy to have it done before summer ends. Winter is the only one the remains in this series, so I will make sure to put that into my rotation this fall.

Next up was the final piece on this mounted flat fold. I made the flat fold a while back, but hadn't added the mini-pom. I love how it makes the orange pop.

The last finish for the day was a tough one - I stitched this a while back and cut the backing board probably two years ago, but I knew it would be tough to mount with the border. Add to that a little wonky fabric and it was certainly a challenge, but I think it turned out close enough. This one will be mounted on a box frame and I am happy to have it done.

It really felt good to get those four finishes done and then I switched to working on some of my WIPs to get some finishes. My first one was a big finish - I got Blitzen done and then added all the crystals to my Hinzeit Crystal Reindeer. This project has been a year and a half in the making and as you can see, I cut it really close on the right side. Even so, I am very happy to have it done and now to work on a framing plan.

The next finish was also a start in July - this was the free pattern Friday piece from Primrose Cottage and I just fell in love with it. It was such a fun and quick stitch.
I kept going on the WIPs after Hello Summer and knew I could get Wintry Tales completed pretty quickly. I just had the final section and personalization left and got it done in one day. This one will be a bookmark finished with the hem stitch (it will be my first time trying this finish).
Last up for my July finishes was the last of my StitchMaynia starts - Patriotic People - I am stitching this one as a shop model for my LNS and it was a fun stitch. Isn't that couple cute?
So much fun stitching in July! I also spent some time sewing but don't have pictures to share. I made a couple fabric "boxes" and made good progress on my Sandhill Sling bag. I also made a back for and loaded Acrobatic on my quilt frame so it's ready to quilt.

In addition to all the quilting, we took my son to freshman orientation at University of Cincinnati and he's excited and ready to move in this month. Not long now until the empty nest!
